Why Sellers Have Questions & What This Page Covers
Generally speaking, most people don’t sell an Aga every day. So, whatever your reason for selling, you’ll have plenty of questions about the Aga cooker selling process, how an estimated value is calculated, how it will be removed, and so much more.
At Range Exchange, we get it. We’ve been buying, collecting, and reconditioning Aga cookers for decades. That means we’ve heard every concern under the sun.
This page answers the most common questions about selling an Aga — all in one place.

Top Questions Answered
How do I sell my Aga cooker to Range Exchange?
Despite their hefty size, selling your Aga with us is refreshingly simple.
- Send us your details – Include your cooker’s model (if known), condition, and postcode. We also ask for two clear photos.
- Receive a quote – quick, fair, and based on real market value.
- Collection is arranged – Our in-house team handles everything nationwide.
- Get paid – Securely upon collection and using the payment method of your choice (direct transfer or cash-in-hand).
We’ll take care of the rest. We send a specific (but small and easy) set of instructions for you to follow in plenty of time before we arrive.
What types of Aga cookers do you buy?
Our most popular question. We specialise in buying modern Aga cookers from the new generation control series — especially electric models like:
- Total Control
- Dual Control
- R7 / R3 series
- ER7 / ER3
- City 60
We also buy certain gas and oil-fired models, provided they’re reasonably modern and in good condition.
If your cooker is one of the older solid-fuel types, heavily modified, or from another brand like Rayburn or Rangemaster, we’re unlikely to accept it — but we’re happy to check for you.
How do I get a valuation for my Aga?
The easiest way to receive a valuation is through our Sell Your Aga page. You can also contact us for a quote via phone or email. To help us assess your Aga cooker accurately, send:
- Two good photos (front, inside, and top, if possible)
- Fuel type (electric, gas, or oil)
- Any model details you know (don’t worry if you don’t know them)
- Your personal details including address.
No pressure, no obligation. We’ll get back to you quickly with a clear offer. If you have anymore Aga valuation questions, contact one of our team today.
Do I need to disconnect the Aga beforehand?
No, our trained team will handle disconnection on-site. All we ask is that you turn the cooker off at least 24 hours before collection so it can cool down completely.
Whether it’s electric, gas, or oil, we’ll deal with it safely.
Do I have to remove or move the cooker myself?
Absolutely not.
Our in-house professionals use specialist lifting and removal equipment to handle every cooker with care. These are highly-trained, insured professionals who know Aga cookers inside and out.
You don’t need to worry about damaging your kitchen or straining your back. We’ve got it covered.
How does payment work?
You’ll be paid on the day of collection, either via bank transfer or another agreed method. No waiting days or weeks. No hoops to jump through.
We want the process to be as secure and transparent as possible, so we keep payment terms crystal clear.
What happens to my Aga after you take it?
Your cooker will be fully reconditioned by our team and brought back to life in our Cheshire-based workshop.
Unlike some companies, we don’t rip cookers apart for parts. Our focus is on restoring the whole appliance to showroom standards. We use vitreous enamel finishes (the same material used in brand-new Agas) for deep gloss, long-lasting durability, and that classic Aga look.
The reconditioned cooker is then sold to a new home.
Does it matter where I live in the UK?
Not at all. We offer a nationwide collection, from the tip of Cornwall to the top of Scotland.
It doesn’t affect the valuation either, and there’s no extra fee for distance. We’ll work with you to arrange a convenient time and date.
What condition does my cooker need to be in?
We buy working and non-working cookers. As long as your Aga hasn’t been damaged beyond repair or drastically altered, there’s a good chance we’ll take it.
That said, being honest about your condition helps. Let us know if:
- It hasn’t been used in a while.
- It’s been converted or modified.
- There are missing parts.
We’ll still do our best to make you a fair offer.
Do I need to clean my Aga before selling it?
No deep cleaning is necessary.
We’ll recondition everything from top to base, so we don’t expect spotless ovens. A light wipe-down is helpful for photos, but no one’s judging the state of your cooker.
Are there any hidden fees or collection costs?
None whatsoever.
We cover all removal and logistics — there’s no charge to you, and the price we quote is the amount you get paid. No last-minute deductions. No collection fees. Just honest service.
What areas do you cover?
We buy and collect from anywhere within mainland UK
Are there AGA cookers you do not buy?
We don’t buy anything that’s converted from solid fuel, oil or gas. However, we do buy electric models, electric and gas-topped integrated modules. If you are unsure of what you have, please get in touch with us and we will kindly let you know.
How do I know which model I have?
Please send a photo of your Aga cooker and we will be able to identify the model for you.
Will you protect my floor?
Yes, our own in-house team takes great care when removing your cooker ensuring your property is protected at all times. We lay boards on the floor to protect it thoroughly.
How much space is needed?
The delivery team will need to manipulate a footprint of 1005mm x 740mm through the grounds and property. The cooker’s largest turning point through 90 degrees is 1.5 meters including the moving equipment at either end. If you are not sure, please kindly send us an access video.
How do you get the cooker out of my house?
Our own in-house team uses specialist moving equipment to remove the cooker. They will take great care of your property at all times
Will you quibble about the price?
No, our offer will be a firm unconditional offer based on your description and photograph regarding the condition.
How long does it take?
Depending on the access, it would normally take anywhere between 1-3 hours for our team to complete the removal.
Can you coordinate this with a new cooker replacement?
We will certainly try our best! Let us know a date that you would like to work towards and we’ll see what we can do.
Should I sell privately?
Selling privately comes with many obstacles, such as damage to your property, non payment, uninsured workmen and much more. By choosing Range Exchange, you are fully covered and have peace of mind that your cooker is being removed by professionals.
What time do you normally arrive?
Our engineers will provide you with an ETA the evening before when they have planned their route for the following day. If our team is likely to be delayed due to traffic on the day, you will be the first to know.
